Chance of a Lifetime Gala

34th Annual JDRF Chance of a Lifetime Gala
Saturday, December 14, 2013
McCormick Place Lakeside Center and Arie Crown Theater

Thank you for your support of JDRF Illinois’s Chance of a Lifetime Gala! This record-breaking evening raised $3.8 million and hosted 2,000 attendees.

This year’s refreshed Gala included an expansive silent auction, a mini-live auction, diamond raffle, and its signature “Mystery Balloon” program. Mayor Rahm Emanuel lent his time to the cause by addressing the crowd in the silent auction area before guests moved to dinner.

After dinner, guests moved into the theater for the evening’s program, which included an exciting live auction and passionate speeches by this year’s Fund A Cure family, including Caitlin Reedy, whose honest speech about living with T1D received two standing ovations. NBC 5 Chicago’s Allison Rosati and Rob Stafford, the Gala’s long-time emcees, helped set the generous and warm tone for the evening, which resulted in incredible fundraising and ended with a concert by Motown legend Smokey Robinson!

None of this success would be possible without the countless donors and volunteers who supported the Gala’s efforts through Fund A Cure donations, table and ticket purchases, donations of auction items and their purchase at the Gala, incredible in-kind support, and committed fundraising.

Special thanks to Gala sponsors  and the driven committee — which went above and beyond to ensure a Gala like none other in the city!

Donations for this event are still being accepted.
